Orchid Fusion VMS allows system administrators to configure email alerts that can be sent to one or more Fusion users, groups, or outside email addresses whenever Orchid Fusion VMS encounters an error from an Orchid Core VMS recording server.
For information on configuring email notifications in Orchid Fusion VMS, please see the section Notifications in the Orchid Fusion VMS Administrator Guide.
Orchid Fusion VMS Notifications can be sent based on four configurable triggers. IPConfigure recommends that all four triggers be enabled in enterprise environments:
- Server Unreachable occurs when Orchid Fusion VMS is unable to communicate with an Orchid Core VMS recording server. This is typically due to a network condition or server hardware failure.
- Camera Unreachable occurs when Orchid Fusion VMS determines that an Orchid Core VMS recording server is unable to communicate with a camera that Orchid Core VMS has been configured to record. This is typically due to a network condition or camera hardware failure.
- Server Errors occur when an Orchid Core VMS recording server restarts, enters a degraded state, or unexpectedly stops writing video files. See Understanding Server Error Notifications for more information.
- I/O Errors occur when an Orchid Core VMS recording server is unable to write video files to disk quickly enough. See Understanding I/O Error Notifications for more information.
