Cause:

Internet Explorer 9 does not have proper support for the industry standard Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS). More information on CORS is available at the links below.

Resolution:

Upgrade the browser to Internet Explorer 10.

Workaround:

Open Internet Explorer 9 and load ESM.

Add ESM as a trusted site:

Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > click "Trusted Sites" > Sites > uncheck "Require server verification..." > click Add
