How to adjust settings in favor of performance:

1. Start > Right click on "Computer" or "This PC" from explorer
2. On the left hand pane, choose "Advanced System Settings"
3. Click "Settings" for the "Performance" box.
4. Tick the radio button for "Adjust for best performance"
5. Apply > OK

How to disable the Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager Service (Aero):

1. Start > Administrative Tools > Services
2. Find "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager"
3. Right click > "Properties"
4. Press "Stop"
5. Change the startup type to "Manual."
6. Apply > OK.
