Server 2012 - v5.4 and previous

Note: This applies to V5.4 and previous ONLY. v6.xx no longer depends on Windows Media Services.

Few differences between the Installation manual (focused on installing on windows 2008) and installing on server 2012:

Do not install: 
-Role: Streaming media services 
-Windows media services standalone update

Install that is not documented: 
-Feature: Media Foundation 
-Feature: WoW64 Support

-Feature: WCF for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.5

Using Server 2012 with ESMv5.4:

Please note: You will only be able to use a Silverlight-based browser (not internet explorer). (If you choose to use internet explorer, please force Silverlight: https://ipconfigure.zendesk.com/entries/28206506-Forcing-Silverlight-on-Internet-Explorer)
