Window Media Services Authentication
When playing Archive video, the popup box results in a blank screen that reads No Video. A common cause for this is due to the WMUS user on the server not being synced in Windows Media Services.
To check to see if this is the cause, go to Part 2 first and check to see if the WMS Anonymous User Authentication is in a disabled status with a red-x. If so, proceed with the following:
Part 1: Set password for WMUS user
Start>> Administrative Tools >>Server Manager
Drop down tree for Configuration >>Local Users and Groups
Select Users
Right-click on the user that starts with “WMUS_” (Note this exact user name as it will be used in Step 2)
Choose Set Password >> Proceed
Enter a password that will be used for step 2.
Part 2: Sync WMS Anonymous User Authentication
Start>> Administrative Tools >>Windows Media Services
Click the server name in the left navigation panel
On the right, choose the Properties tab
Under Category, choose Authentication
In the Plug-in section, right-click WMS Anonymous User Authentication. Select Properties. Enter Username and Password as noted in Part 1. Click OK
Again in the Plug-in section, right-click WMS Anonymous User Authentication. Select Enable.
