Background
IPConfigure's Smart Search provides near-instantaneous motion search in specific regions of recorded video. See Using Smart Search in the Orchid Core VMS User Guide for more information.
When enabled, Smart Search incurs a very modest increase in CPU and memory usage, typically less than 5%. However, because users may not expect this increase when upgrading, particularly for automated upgrades in an enterprise environment, Smart Search is disabled by default when upgrading from versions less than 22.12.0.
Smart Search is enabled by default on all new installations, and will remain enabled for all subsequent upgrades once enabled.
Enabling Smart Search
Enable Smart Search by setting the following value in the Orchid Core properties file, using either the Advanced Settings section of the Orchid Core administrator interface, or by editing the properties file directly (in either Windows or Linux) and restarting the Orchid Core service:
orchid.disable_smart_search: false
